Scouting report: This is the second game on a threegame preseason trip and the second of the Heat's six exhibition­s . . . The Heat went 3-1 against the Hornets last season . . . The Hornets' offseason changes included the dismissal of Steve Clifford as coach and the hiring of James Borrego in his place. The Hornets also parted with Dwight Howard, while adding Bismack Biyombo and Tony Parker. Former Florida State forward Dwayne Bacon is expected to receive additional playing time this season . . . The Hornets have moved Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to power forward and Nicolas Batum to small forward, opening a backcourt spot for Malik Monk or Jeremy Lamb alongside Kemba Walker . . . The Heat are coming off Sunday's 104-100 preseasono­pening loss in San Antonio, when coach Erik Spoelstra went deep into his bench in the second half, with Hassan Whiteside leading the Heat with 20 points and 13 rebounds . . . The Hornets are 1-1 in the preseason, coming off Sunday's 115-112 loss in Boston, despite 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting from rookie forward Miles Bridges, who was drafted at No. 12 out of Michigan State . . . Dion Waiters (ankle), James Johnson (hernia), Bam Adebayo (shoulder) and Wayne Ellington (ankle) are out for the Heat, while Josh Richardson (thigh) is questionab­le . . . For the Hornets, KiddGilchr­ist (concussion) is out.
