Allen, Parker, Jones all practice, but status uncertain for Sunday

DAVIE — One member of the Miami Dolphins’ injured brigade made his return to practice on Wednesday, while another who was inactive last week also practiced.

Dolphins linebacker Chase Allen, who has played in the first three games with one start, practiced for the first time since suffering a foot injury in Miami’s Week 3 win over Oakland on Sept. 23.

Wide receiver DeVante Parker also practiced, after popping up on the Dolphins injury report last Friday with a quadriceps injury, and being inactive for his third game this season last Sunday.

It’s too early in the week to determine if Allen, Parker, or safety Reshad Jones — who has practiced but has been held out the last two games due to a shoulder injury — will be available to play in this Sunday’s road game against Cincinnati Bengals.

Parker and Allen were limited participants in Wednesday’s practice, while Jones was a full participant.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Parker suffered his injury during Friday’s practice, and was unable to “get going” while running routes . ...

Missing from a Wednesday practice for the second straight week was defensive end Cameron Wake, who has a knee injury.

Cornerback Bobby McCain (knee), defensive end Andre Branch (knee), tight end A.J. Derby (foot), wide receiver Danny Amendola (rest), and running back Brandon Bolden (hamstring) also did not practice.

Dolphins right tackle Ja’Waun James (pectoral) and linebacker Stephone Anthony (hamstring) were full participants in practice.

Offensive lineman Connor Hilland, a practice squad rookie out of William & Mary, appeared to leave practice with an injury.

Roster move: The Dolphins added third-year defensive tackle Garrison Smith to their practice squad.

Smith appeared in two games for Arizona this season, with two total tackles, but was cut on Sept. 18. He played his first two seasons with Seattle, appearing in 11 games with 14 tackles.

The move will help offset the Dolphins’ release of defensive tackle Jordan Phillips on Tuesday.
