Another Browns breakthoug­h in OT

On their third try in five weeks, the Browns finally figured out how to win in overtime Sunday.

Rookie Greg Joseph’s 37-yard field goal — a knucklebal­l that barely cleared the crossbar — with 2 seconds left in OT gave the Browns a 12-9 win over the Ravens.

After quarterbac­k Baker Mayfield drove the Browns into position, Joseph, signed after Week 2 following Zane Gonzalez’s release, lined his kick through for the team’s first AFC North win in 19 tries.

“It wasn’t a pretty kick but it went in,” Mayfield said. “It also wasn’t a pretty win, but it counts.”

Chiefs 30, Jaguars 14: The Chiefs’ defense forced Jaguars quarterbac­k Blake Bortles into five turnovers, including a pick-six by defensive tackle Chris Jones. Patrick Mahomes threw for 313 yards and ran for a score, though he also threw his first two picks of the season. Panthers 33, Giants 31: Graham Gano connected on a career-long 63-yard field goal with 1 second left to lift the Panthers. Gano has made 35 in a row at home since 2016. Jets 34, Broncos 16: Isaiah Crowell ran for a franchise-record 219 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown, and Sam Darnold threw two touchdown passes to Robby Anderson, including a 76-yarder. Lions 31, Packers 23: Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes and LeGarrette Blount ran for two scores. Packers kicker Mason Crosby missed a career-high four field goals and botched an extra point.

Steelers 41, Falcons 17: Ben Roethlisbe­rger and Antonio Brown connected on two second-half touchdowns. Brown has 64 touchdown catches, moving him past John Stallworth into second place in team history.

Vikings 23, Eagles 21: Kirk Cousins threw for 301 yards and one touchdown, and Linval Joseph returned a fumble 64 yards for a score in a rematch of last season’s NFC championsh­ip game.

Rams 33, Seahawks 31: Todd Gurley rushed for three touchdowns, and Jared Goff passed for 321 yards and a score as the Rams remained unbeaten.

Bengals 27, Dolphins 17: Michael Johnson returned an intercepti­on for the tying score, and Sam Hubbard went 19 yards with a fumble for the clinching touchdown, rallying the Bengals from a 17-point deficit.

Chargers 26, Raiders 10: Philip Rivers threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns, the 59th 300-yard passing game of Rivers’ 15-year career and his eighth against the Raiders.

Cardinals 28, 49ers 18: Josh Rosen threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Christian Kirk on the Cardinals’ first play from scrimmage and the defense had five takeaways. in the Cards’ first win. Bills 13, Titans 12: Stephen Hauschka hit a 46-yard field goal as time expired, and the Bills’ defense forced three turnovers.

Cowboys at Texans: The matchup was only the fifth time these Texas teams have met. The Cowboys have won the last three, with the Texans’ only win coming in the franchise's first game in 2002.
