FSU’s Rudolph joins roster, suffers injury in 1st workout
DAVIE The Miami Dolphins added former Florida State standout receiver Travis Rudolph to their practice squad this week. But shortly after his first practice with the team began Wednesday, Rudolph suffered a left leg injury and was seen limping off the practice field with a trainer.
“I saw it, but it didn’t look good,” Dolphins coach Adam Gase said when asked about Rudolph’s injury after practice.
Rudolph became the third receiver on the Dolphins’ practice squad, joining second-year receiver Isaiah Ford and third-year receiver Leonte Carroo.
He is also the second former FSU player from Palm Beach County to join the Dolphins this season, after tight end Nick O’Leary month.
Rudolph, a former Cardinal Newman High standout who went undrafted in 2017 but spent last season on and off the New York Giants 53-man roster, had eight career catches for 101 yards during his rookie season.

Rudolph finished his career as a top-10 receiver in Seminoles history, with 153 receptions (seventh) and 2,311 yards receiving (eighth). His 18 touchdowns are tied for 13th on FSU's all-time list.
Rudolph may be most recognized for making national news in Aug. 2016, while visiting a Tallahassee middle school and sitting with an autistic student who was eating lunch by himself.
