Seminole Ridge’s Kaimyn Castilla left his team’s game against Pahokee with an ankle injury of unknown severity. But he could walk on it, so he re-entered the game one drive later to help the Hawks stay ahead of the Blue Devils.

Castilla finished Friday’s upset victory over Pahokee, completing 13 of 23 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown while constantly being harassed by Pahokee’s pressure. Castilla highlighte­d some of the top performers from Broward and Palm Beach counties this week. NICK VATTIATO | UNIVERSITY SCHOOL The Sharks’ sophomore QB led a rout of Archbishop McCarthy, completing 8 of 10 passes for 309 yards and four TDs. ANTAVIOUS LANE | DWYER The senior safety returned intercepti­ons 32 and 47 yards for TDs in Dwyer’s 48-0 win over Royal Palm Beach. ZAY FLOWERS | UNIVERSITY SCHOOL The senior wide receiver hauled in two catches for 98 yards. Both receptions went for TDs. DAVIUS RICHARD | GLADES CENTRAL The senior QB threw for 405 yards and four TDs and ran for 40 yards and another score in Glades Central’s 34-16 victory over American Heritage-Delray. TYLER JONES | AMERICAN HERITAGE Jones averaged 6.2 yards per carry (87 yards) and scored twice as the Patriots beat Miami Jackson on the road. KALANI ILIMALEOTA | ATLANTIC The senior QB completed 9 of 14 passes for 135 yards and added an 8-yard TD run in the Eagles’ 38-6 win over Lake Worth. DORIAN JONES | AMERICAN HERITAGE The senior linebacker had a dominant performanc­e, leading the team with 13 tackles and six tackles for loss, including five sacks. JAYLAN KNIGHTON | DEERFIELD BEACH Knighton, a junior Oklahoma Sooners commit, rushed for 254 yards in the first half as the Bucks defeated Monarch 40-0. DARIUS MCCLENDON | FOREST HILL The senior QB carried 16 times for 106 yards and a TD in the Falcons’ 34-6 victory over Olympic Heights. JAVON DENIS | DEERFIELD BEACH The senior lineman helped Deerfield shut out Monarch, racking up five tackles, two tackles for loss and three sacks. CEDQUAN SMITH | MIRAMAR The sophomore QB led the Patriots to a victory in the Mayor’s Cup game against Everglades. Smith completed 10 of 17 passes for 147 yards and three TDs. AARON JACOBS | OLYMPIC HEIGHTS The junior running back carried 21 times for 110 yards in the Lion’ 34-6 setback against Forest Hill. D’METRI WALTERS | COCONUT CREEK Walters, a senior DE, had nine tackles, five sacks and a fumble recovery that he returned for a TD against Stranahan. SIDNEY PORTER | CARDINAL GIBBONS The senior DB scored on defense for the second week in a row, scooping up a fumble and returning it 34 yards for a TD. MARK-ANTONY RICHARDS | WELLINGTON The senior carried six times for 115 yards, including a 92-yard score in the Wolverines’ 24-13 victory over Palm Beach Gardens. JESSE RIVERA | WESTERN Rivera, the Wildcats’ senior quarterbac­k, threw for 285 yards and five TDs as Western took down South Plantation 37-20. GERARD NESBITT | PLANTATION The junior QB racked up 144 passing yards and two TDs through the air while adding two more with his legs against Coral Glades. JOHN PANCHOOKIA­N | WESTERN The senior outside linebacker led the Wildcats’ defense with seven tackles and 3.5 sacks in their win over South Plantation. DERRICK CRUICKSHAN­K | PALM BEACH CENTRAL The junior RB helped the Broncos to a seventh straight win with six rushes for 88 yards and a TD in a 42-0 drubbing of Jupiter. TJ SMITH | MCARTHUR Smith, the Mustangs’ senior quarterbac­k, was 11-for-21 on Thursday and threw for 345 yards and four TDs. KHANI JOHNS | BENJAMIN The sophomore RB rushed for 116 yards and four TDs in the Buccaneers’ 44-0 victory over Saint Andrew’s. STANLEY ROBINSON | FORT LAUDERDALE Robinson had three receptions for 52 yards and a 93-yard kick-return TD as the Flying L’s beat West Broward. JAYSON MARTIN | CARDINAL NEWMAN The senior had 12 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two sacksand contribute­d two TDs on offense. XAVIER RESTREPO | ST. THOMAS AQUINAS The junior had three TDs in a blowout victory against Boyd Anderson and chipped in on special teams, blocking a punt. JEREMIAH SCROGGINS | KING’S ACADEMY The senior wide receiver had seven receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ 42-7 win over Key West. COREY CROTEAU | KING’S ACADEMY The senior had a team-leading 11 tackles, five for losses, a fumble recovery and a safety in the 42-7 victory over Key West.
