BrandsMart USA to open in Dania Beach
BrandsMart USA is scheduled to open a new branch next week in Dania Beach.
The 90,000-square-foot store will be at 10 S. Compass Way, in the Dania Pointe Shopping Plaza, east of Interstate 95 at Stirling Road.
The latest store, set to debut Nov. 1, will bring with it an estimated 625 new jobs. Bobby Johnson, senior vice president for store operations, said only about a dozen sales positions remain.
He said the new location had been on BrandsMart’s radar.
“This will give us another store east of I-95 that we were missing in Broward County,” he said, making it “more convenient for that customer who is out east. That’s why we’re doing it.”
In South Florida, BrandsMart has stores in Deerfield Beach, Sunrise and West Palm Beach, and three in Miami-Dade County. There is also a clearance store in Davie, according to the website.
The company sells items such as home appliances, furniture, mattresses and electronics including televisions, car stereos and home theater equipment.
It was among the first major retailers announced last year for the $800 million Dania Pointe shopping and entertainment center. Other signings included TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby, Advance Auto Parts, Men’s Wearhouse, Shoe Carnival, Youfit Health Clubs, Ulta Beauty and Verizon.
