HGTV’s Phan coming to Home Design show
With the holidays around the corner, homeowners wanting to learn about the latest trends in home design, remodeling, furniture, fine art, landscaping, appliances, home automation, hurricane protection — and more — can find all the information they want in one place at The Home Design and Remodeling Show, Nov. 16-18 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward County Convention Center.
The event features hundreds of vendors, many of whom will be offering special savings exclusive to the show, special room vignettes created by interior designers, daily lifestyle seminars and art activities.
“Whether you own a home or rent a home, there’s something in the show for everyone,” says Adam Kayce, vice president and show director of Home Show Management Corp. in Coral Gables. “The show is a true one-stop shop for everything design and home improvement. It would take you months to go visit all the showrooms you’ll see in the show.”
Kayce says he expects about 50,000 people to attend over three days.
New to the show this year is “Ely’s Special Space,” a bedroom inspired by a teenage boy diagnosed with malignant bone cancer. Ely is the next recipient of a bedroom by Special Spaces Boca Raton, a nonprofit that constructs a bedroom for a child with a critical illness. Designer Viviana Galetto will create her room vignette based on Ely’s favorites: the Miami Dolphins and Heat, graffiti art and bold colors. She will then adapt the final design and transform the bedroom in Ely’s home.

“I love attending home shows as a way to just let my ideas wander while roaming the floor and to see what vendors and designers are up to,” Phan says. “What I’m looking forward to the most is being in the same room as people who simply crave a fun ‘crafternoon’ of making things and making conversation.”
