Kali, the monkey that authorities said was stolen from the Palm Beach Zoo, has been recovered, West Palm Beach said early Wednesday.

In a Twitter message about 6 a.m., the agency said “Kali is home!”

The zoo confirmed the rare 12-year-old Goeldi’s monkey was returned shortly before midnight Tuesday.

“We are grateful for the tenacious and passionate detectives and police officers

involved in our case,” said Margo McKnight, Zoo President & CEO.

Kali was last seen about 6 p.m. Sunday as the zoo was closing for the night.

Information and images released Monday appeared to show someone lurking near the zoo’s west side and officials said Roger Stone is photographed with Karyn Turk, host of the conservative radio program, “Right America Radio,” after a meeting of the Gold Coast Tiger Bay Club on Wednesday at City Fish Market in Boca Raton.

there was evidence of forced entry in the habitat where Kali was kept.

“We have on-site security guards and surveillance equipment,” Knight said, in a statement. “Now we’re looking at increasing both technology and manpower.”

The one-pound monkey requires daily treatment for inflammation but appears to be in good health.

“Kali is doing well considering she has been without her medication for days,” McKnight said. “Our animal care team is monitoring her closely, and our goal is to reunite her with Quito, her mate, as soon as we know she’s healthy.”

A $6,000 reward was being offered in the case but there was no immediate word about whether it would be awarded to anyone.
