Super Bowl LIV seeks 10,000 volunteers in South Florida
The Miami Super Bowl Host Committee is seeking 10,000 volunteers to enhance the Super Bowl experience in South Florida next February.
The committee opened its volunteer program application Tuesday to attract volunteers for Super Bowl LIV, which will be a record 11th Super Bowl in South Florida and culminate the NFL’s 100th season on Feb. 2, 2020, at Hard Rock Stadium.
Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, who spent his entire career with the Miami Dolphins, is serving as an honorary captain for the volunteer program.
“I’ve told all my friends for years, the only way to really experience Miami is to come live it,” Marino said in a press release. “Super Bowl LIV will be an amazing opportunity for the world to come see how we work, play and live, and to see everything new my hometown has to offer.”
Potential volunteers would work in a variety of locations, such as Downtown Miami, Miami Beach Convention Center, the three South Florida airports, various hotels and fan events. They would be required to work a minimum of three shifts, which range from 4 to 6 hours in length from Jan. 25, 2020, to Feb. 2, 2020.
Volunteers will not receive tickets to the Super Bowl and will not be needed inside Hard Rock Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday.
But selected volunteers will receive a complimentary uniform kit, including a jacket, polo shirt, backpack, hat, water bottle and other items.
Potential volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, speak English and complete the application form by Aug. 1. Volunteers will be accepted after an in-person interview and background check, according to the press release.
