Aldi to open in Boynton Beach

People lined up to take a look at the new Aldi food store in Deerfield Beach.

Aldi opens its first store in Boynton Beach on Thursday. The store is located at 3452 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., just west of Congress Avenue.

The store is part of a $3.4 billion investment by the Illinois-based discount grocer to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022.

Aldi operates more than stores in 35 states. 1,800 U.S.

What’s new?

The new Aldi features additional refrigerat­ion space to accommodat­e more fresh products, the company said. It also has increased its grab-and-go items.

When is the store open?

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

What is Aldi known for?

The store offers exclusive Aldi brands, including German bread, as well as fresh and organic produce.

How does it compare with other grocery stores?

Aldi tied with Publix for the No. 4 spot in the latest American Customer Satisfacti­on Index survey, which ranked the best and worst retailers of 2018. More than 62,000 consumers rated a total of 22 grocers in more than a dozen categories, including convenienc­e, cleanlines­s, selection, sales and promotions, and speed of checkout.

Are there jobs available?

Each Aldi store employs 15 to 20 people, a spokeswoma­n said.

While Aldi has mostly hired for the Boynton Beach store, there are a few positions available.
