WHAT’S OPEN AND CLOSED ON JULY 4
Here’s what will be closed in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties for Independence Day, a federal holiday on Thursday. To find out where you can watch fireworks or see parades, please visit the events calendar.
South Florida:
Most banks will be closed.
Post offices will be closed; there will be no regular mail delivery.
Markets: NYSE, Nasdaq and Bond Markets will be closed.
Most federal, state, county court, governmental and municipal offices will be closed.

Broward County
Governmental, courts, services
Public schools, and most colleges and universities will be closed.
County governmental offices will be closed.
The Circuit and County Courts and the Administrative Office of the Courts will be closed.
Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed. In the event of animal attack or bite, call 911. For lost or found cats or dogs, call 954-359-1313, ext. 9273.
The Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, will be closed.
There is pick up of garbage, bulk and recycling, as regularly scheduled.
All offices and programs at the Florida Department of Health will be closed. Entertainment
The county library system will be closed.
Broward County regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers and natural areas will be open with the exception of Deerfield Island Park, which will be closed per normal operating schedule. Transportation

Palm Beach County
Government/Schools County and municipal offices will be closed. Public schools, and most colleges and universities will be closed. Courts will be closed. Services
In unincorporated Palm Beach County, there will be regular garbage collection service. Entertainment
The county library system will be closed.
County parks administrative offices will be closed. Park hours: sunrise - sunset, unless otherwise noted. Lighted court facilities open until 9:00 p.m. Transportation
Palm Tran: no Bus service, administrative offices closed.
Miami-Dade County
Government/Schools
Public schools, and most colleges and universities will be closed.
Courts: Eleventh Judicial Circuit will be closed. Services
There will be regularly scheduled garbage pickup. Schedules in each city may vary.
Entertainment
The county library system will be closed.
Miami-Dade regional and neighborhood Park Administrative offices will be closed. Transportation
