Casting call for ‘The Bachelor’
Calling all single South Florida ladies!
ABC announced Monday night that it’s having casting calls this summer for the upcoming season of “The Bachelor’’ and there’s an event in Fort Lauderdale.
The auditions will take place 1 to 4 p.m. July 21 at the Riverside Hotel, 620 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale where past auditions have also been held. Since this is for the next edition of “The Bachelor,’’ producers will be looking for female contestants.
The current season of the show, which launched in May, features “Bachelorette” Hannah Brown and her pool of suitors including former Florida Atlantic University football player and Jupiter native Tyler Cameron, 26. For a one on one date in Monday’s episode, Cameron showed Brown his favorite local spots such as the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum.
“This is my hometown. It’s beautiful. You’re outshining it right now, but it’s beautiful,” Cameron told Brown at the lighthouse.
He then took her on a boat ride along the waterway and then danced and sang with her at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar along the Jupiter Inlet.
Cameron brought the Alabama interior decorator to his family’s house in Jupiter where he introduced her to his parents, brother and friends.
To be considered for the show, you need to be at least 21 years old, single, a U.S. citizen or legal resident. You can’t have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor or ever had a restraining order against you.
Prospective contestants also need to have a passport to travel outside the country for dates and adventures. Brown’s season has taken her and her suitors to Boston, Newport, Rhode Island, the Netherlands and Riga, Latvia.
The show usually goes for contestants who have an outgoing personality. If you’re dramatic, that could help, too.
