The University of Miami men’s basketball team announced the Hurricanes’ non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season on Monday.

Miami will play 10 nonconference games outside of ACC play across five cities, including four at home at Watsco Center.

“We have put together an exciting, challenging non-conference schedule that will help our players prepare for ACC competition,” said coach Jim Larrañaga, who will enter his ninth season leading the program. “Along with playing in front of our great fans here in South Florida, we are looking forward to giving our many supporters in Orlando and New York the opportunity to see us in-person this year.”

Miami will start the season with a previously scheduled ACC opener against Louisville, which is ranked fifth in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25 on Nov. 5. Then the out-ofconference slate begins.

It starts with UM hosting FAU on Nov. 8 before heading to Orlando to face UCF on Nov. 12. It will be the first meeting since 2013 between the Hurricanes and the Knights, who went 24-9 and reached the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 last year.

Miami then hosts Quinnipiac on Nov. 16 before hitting the road for four straight. The Hurricanes will open play at the Charleston Classic with Missouri State (Nov. 21), followed by Florida or St. Joseph’s (Nov. 22) and either Buffalo, UConn, Towson or Xavier on Nov. 24.

UM heads to Champaign, Ill., to meet Illinois on Dec. 2 in the Big Ten/ ACC Challenge. An 11-day hiatus follows before hosting Alabama A&M on Dec. 14.

UM then plays Temple, which went 23-10 and made the NCAA Tournament last season, on Dec. 17 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn before hosting Coppin State on Dec. 21.

The Hurricanes’ ACC schedule, which features 20 games for the first time, will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Prior to the start of the regular season, Miami hosts Flagler on Oct. 30 in an exhibition game.
