Ultra Music Festival returning to Miami’s Bayfront Park in 2020
The Ultra Music Festival has shared its new dates for Miami next year.
The electronic dance music festival will be staged March 20, 21, 22 in Bayfront Park in downtown Miami in 2020.
“We’re coming home to Bayfront Park!” organizers shared in an email and on social media to followers this week with a link to register for tickets. Prices haven’t been released but people who register on the website will be alerted of tickets 24-48 hours before they’re on sale.

It’s been a long and rocky road for the festival’s comeback to downtown Miami.
On July 25, Miami city commissioners approved an agreement to allow the festival to return to Bayfront Park. As part of the deal, organizers offered to limit hours, lower sound levels and provide fewer stages.
The festival was originally staged in Miami Beach for two years before moving to Bayfront Park in 2001. For 17 years, the event drew thousands of music fans in festive outfits to the park, providing an economic boost to area businesses.
But noise and quality of life issues from downtown denizens including the Downtown Neighbors Alliance group drew regular complaints. Last September, event organizers started looking for a new venue after Miami commissioners voted down a contract to keep the festival at Bayfront.
In March, the event was staged at the Historic Virginia Key Beach and Miami Marine Stadium Flex for the first time. Transportation issues with event shuttles to and from the mainland plagued the event early on. There were also complaints from residents in Brickell and Key Biscayne about traffic and the loud noise.
In May, festival organizers said they were terminating their license with the city of Miami and not returning to Virginia Key. Miami officials then began reconsidering allowing the festival to return to Bayfront, according to The Miami Herald.
Next year’s Ultra will be the 22nd edition of the event in greater Miami.
