European Wax Center, which oversees 892 body waxing salons, is pulling its corporate headquarters out of Hallandale Beach and laying off 100 workers, the company announced this week.

The company is among seven in South Florida cutting 541 positions beginning in August.

European Wax Center offers waxing services to remove unwanted hairs from men and women. Services listed on the company’s website include full Brazilian bikini waxes, eyebrow waxes, and waxings of the legs, chest, stomach, underarms, lips, toes, and any other body part with hair.

In a letter to the state’s Department of Economic Opportunity, chief counsel Marc Brody said the company would be permanently closing its Hallandale Beach offices at 600 Silks Run at the Village of Gulfstream Park on Dec. 31, and that all employees working there would be given the opportunity to relocate to the new location in Texas.

“As of this date, it’s unclear which employees will be accepting the Company’s offer to relocate,” the letter said, adding that about 100 employees are expected to be separated as a result of the move.
