Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar to open location in Coral Springs

- By Ben Crandell

The lively restaurant and tavern Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar has set its sights on Coral Springs for a new location to open early in 2020.

The Coral Springs shop, located at 3111 N. University Drive, will be the seventh location in South Florida for the growing chain, known for its extensive beer list, elevated gastropub menu, busy happy hour and relaxing patios.

Alex Rudolph, partner and VP of development for parent company Tapco, says his team has had their eye on northwest Broward County for some time.

“We have always thought that Coral Springs and the entire northwest Broward market was a fantastic fit for Tap 42,” Rudolph said in a statement. “After years of searching for the perfect location, we could not be more excited about our upcoming spot right in the heart of Coral Springs.”

The new location will be nearly 5,000 square feet, with a covered patio that includes an indoor-outdoor bar. The menu will be directed by Executive Chef Andrew Balick.

Tapco’s first Tap 42 inspired an instant following when it opened in downtown Fort Lauderdale in 2011, with crowds drawn to halfprice burger night on Mondays, bottomless brunches on Saturday and Sunday, and a lovely patio, of course.

The company’s sixth restaurant is scheduled to open soon at CityPlace Doral. Other locations are in Boca Raton, Aventura, Coral Gables and Midtown Miami.
