Quick slant: FAU (4-2) will be coming off a short week against Marshall (3-3) after defeating Middle Tennessee 28-13 on Saturday in a game the Owls shut out the Blue Raiders in the second half. The Thundering Herd have a 5-1 all-times series lead with FAU’s lone victory coming during their last meeting in Boca in 2017 with a 30-25 win. Marshall defeated the Owls 31-7 for FAU’s largest Conference USA defeat last season.

About FAU: The Owls are on a four-game winning streak after their victory over Middle Tennessee. Redshirt freshman running back Malcolm Davidson drew his first start against the Blue Raiders and rushed for a career-high 149 yards on 21 carries (7.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown. He became the first Owl to rush for 100 yards in a game this season. The Owls forced three turnovers against Middle Tennessee, including two Meiko Dotson intercepti­ons. Dotson has a conference-high four intercepti­ons and is tied for third among all FBS players. About Marshall: The Thundering Herd picked up their first conference win of the season with a 31-17 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday. Defensive lineman Darius Hodge was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week for his showing against Old Dominion, tying a school record with 41⁄2 sacks to go along with seven tackles, while linebacker Tavante Beckett set a careerhigh with 14 tackles and leads C-USA with 60 for the season.
