Save on admission to sale at Orchids on the Square
Thousands of rare and exotic orchids and plans go on sale at Orchids on the Square in Delray Beach today through Sunday.
The Delray Beach Orchid Society’s 30th annual show and sale kicks off 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $5. Save $1 off admission at Delray BeachOrchidSociety.org.
The vintage fieldhouse at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts will be transformed into an orchid lover’s paradise. The sale features plants from several South Florida vendors as well as varieties from the Philippines, Thailand and Costa Rica.
The society also sells growing supplies and flowerpots, and features elaborate orchid displays and juried exhibits. Attendees can win prizes, too.
“This year we are raffling off brunch for two at the fabulous Sundy House Restaurant in downtown Delray Beach,” says organizer Annette Jackson. “Attendees can also view and vote for artwork by Milagro Center student artists, who have a chance to win cash prizes awarded after the show.”
The Palm Beach County nonprofit provides arts experiences to economically challenged youths.
Mayor Shelly Petrolia will cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the show at 10 a.m. Friday, Jackson says.
The society regularly meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month (except in December) at Veterans Park Recreation Center at 802 NE First St. in Delray Beach.
