Survey says ... ‘Family Feud Live’ coming to South Florida
You don’t have to go all the way to Tinseltown to play “Family Feud.” You just have to get to Coral Springs on Thursday, Nov. 7.
That’s when “Family Feud Live: Celebrity Edition!” — a live stage version of the television game show — will play the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. The team captains for the South Florida performance will be comedians Pauly Shore and Tom Arnold.
Rubin Ervin, who is the TV show’s announcer and the warm-up entertainer, will serve as the host, a role made famous on the small screen by Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O’Hurley and Steve Harvey.
But don’t bother trying to sign up your kinfolk to play the game where families compete by guessing what the most popular audience survey answers to questions might be. In this non-televised version, individuals from the audience will be randomly selected to come on stage and join a team “family” headed up by either Arnold or Shore. The touring production also gives audience members chances to win prizes without leaving their seats.
The performer ‘family’ patriarchs
Arnold first became a star on the TV sitcom “Roseanne” in the early ’90s. He has also appeared in movies such as “Madea’s Witness Protection” and “Maximum Impact.”
Shore’s career was launched by MTV as a VJ and then on his own show, “Totally Pauly.” He has starred in movies such as “Encino Man,” “Jury Duty” and “Bio-Dome.”
The small print
The game is open to all legal residents of the United States and Canada, with the exception of Puerto Rico and Quebec. Participants must be 18 years old or older. Ticket purchase will not increase your chances of being selected to play, however you must purchase a ticket to enter the theater to watch the show.
Also, to register for the chance to be a contestant, you must visit the registration area at or near the venue’s box office three hours prior to show time.
