Crosby’s 3 points key rout of Flyers

Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists and the Penguins steamrolle­d the Flyers 7-1 on Tuesday night.

Crosby scored during a four-goal first period, and Matt Murray made 29 saves for the Penguins, who have won two straight after a three-game losing streak.

Brian Elliott allowed six goals on 28 shots before being pulled to begin the third period. Carter Hart made eight saves in relief for the Flyers, who have lost two in a row after winning their previous three.

■ Andrei Svechnikov scored twice in the final 10:47 as the Hurricanes rallied to beat the Flames 2-1. Svechnikov earned a spot in the highlight reels with his first goal, bringing the puck behind the net, scooping it up on his stick blade, lifting it to chest-level and tucking it over goalie David Rittich’s right shoulder. His second goal came on a power play.

One-timers: Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is out indefinite­ly with a lower-body injury. Coach Jared Bednar said Tuesday that Landeskog “is going to miss some significan­t time.” ... The Predators signed captain Roman Josi to a long-term deal, and GM David Poile is so confident in the defenseman’s future he included a rare no-movement clause in the eight-year, $72.4 million contract. The contract made Josi the team’s highest-paid player and keeps him off the free-agent market in July . ... The Oilers’ Connor McDavid played his 300th NHL game Tuesday night against the Red Wings . ...
