Cheap Trick to headline Nov. 23 Hurricane Dorian benefit concert

- By Ben Crandell

One Love Bahamas, a benefit concert for Hurricane Dorian relief at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater on Nov. 23, will feature a lineup that includes Cheap Trick, Sebastian Bach, Foghat, Zebra, Inner Circle, Aaron Carter, DJ Laz and others.

Tickets start at $59 (general admission), with $99 reserved seats and $199 VIP accommodations also available at Ticketmaster.com.

The all-ages concert begins at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m.) and also includes EDM performer Aerotek, rockers Steelheart and Blandini, and locals Elsten Torres, Mason Pace, Jeffrey James Gang, Southern Blood and the BBS Allstars.

All proceeds will benefit Hurricane Dorian victims in the Bahamas through the local not-forprofit organization Shipwreck Park, with a primary goal of installing a battery of water-filtration systems on the affected islands, according to One Love Bahamas co-producer Rob Tischler.

“Water systems, pumps and wells were completely decimated and contaminated in the affected areas,” Tischler said. “Concert proceeds will enable us to install reverse-osmosis water filtration systems that will produce 1,500 gallons of water a day. Each individual system will provide a permanent water solution for up to 100 people, and we plan on installing 100 or more of them.”

Shipwreck Park is an ocean-conservation organization based in Pompano Beach that is dedicated to preserving the local coral reef system and creating an underwater park of artificial reefs. Since the arrival of Hurricane Dorian, the group has diverted its efforts to Bahamian disaster relief. For more information, visit Shipwreck ParkPompano.org.
