DELRAY BEACH – She rented a room to him but had no way of knowing he would end up wandering around her house naked and covered in her dog’s blood.

Adam Ross Mizrach, 33, of Delray Beach, is accused of repeatedly stabbing and slashing the neck and shoulder of Kimberly Armstrong’s dog named Shiloh.

The attack happened about 8 a.m. Monday at a house in the 3800 block of Sherwood Boulevard, according to a Delray Beach police arrest report.

Armstrong, 58, told police she was lying in bed when she heard her dog scream and yelp. When she opened her bedroom door there was blood on the floor. She hesitated to step out for fear she would slip on the blood and hurt her injured back.

She said she saw Mizrach walking around the house with no clothes on.

He had blood on his hands, forearms and feet, the report stated.

Police found blood trails on the floors around the house and in the bedroom Mizrach was renting. The bed sheets, pillow and mattress had blood on them. A bloody knife was found in the kitchen sink, investigators said. During his arrest, Mizrach told police that he, “did not mean for this to happen.”

The dog was taken to Imperial Point Animal Hospital with deep cuts to his neck near his carotid artery and jugular vein. Shiloh also had cuts under his chin and on his shoulder, police said. The outcome of emergency surgery and Shiloh’s current condition were not immediately known.

Mizrach is charged with animal cruelty causing pain and suffering. He refused to attend a firstappearance court hearing on Tuesday and is being held without bond, court documents show.

He was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and could have a bond hearing after that, WPTV-Ch. 5 reported.
