In both cases, cops say man wore Fila running shoes

A Fort Lauderdale Subway shop was robbed twice in four days, and police are hoping video and a pair of running shoes will lead them to the armed suspects.

The first holdup happened at about 9:40 p.m. Oct. 8, in the store at 201 E. Sunrise Blvd., and the second robbery occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 12, police said.

Surveillance video shows two masked men wearing dark hoodie jackets and gloves walking into the Subway during the first holdup and demanding money at gunpoint from the employee. One robber jumps the counter while the other appears to act as a lookout.

Once they put the cash in a plastic Subway bag, they run off.

During the second robbery, the video shows only one gunman walking in wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, gloves and a mask.

He also jumps the counter, puts the money in a plastic bag, jumps back over the counter and leaves.

In both cases, police said the armed robber was wearing dark-colored Fila running shoes.

The video also shows him wearing similar clothing and making the same moves by jumping the counter and putting the cash in a plastic Subway bag in both holdups.

Investigators believe the robber in these two incidents is the same person. They are asking anyone with information or who recognizes this suspect to contact Detective Erik Kirtman at 954-828-6070.
