An insider’s guide to holiday specials offered by local eateries.

It’s time to break out the barbecue, inflate the pool floaties and applying the zinc: Memorial Day is upon us.

Here is an insider’s guide to how to put out a patriotic spread, even during a pandemic (keep in mind that prices do not includes taxes and gratuities.

Dune

Inside the Auberge Beach Residences and Spa, Dune will host a “Backyard BBQ” all weekend long. The holiday special is a meal that includes a one and a quarter pound Maine lobster, little neck clams, Prince Edward mussels, local corn and new potatoes for $45 per person.

Children eat for free with a choice of a hot dog or chicken fingers served with fries and watermelon. For the family there will be patio games (the al fresco dining and bar sits on Fort Lauderdale beach) and a DJ. For the adults there will be welcome shots. Also, there is a 50% discount for all first repsonders and veterans.

LongHorn Steakhouse

Society BBQ

Located inside the Citadel Food Hall, Society BBQ will have Memorial Day Weekend specials including smoked Alabama BBQ pulled chicken salad sandwich for $12, sweet and spicy baby back ribs for $4 a bone and a Wife Hales’ red, white and blue velvet cookie for $3. There are also side dishes for $6, including Texas-style potato salad, “cowboy” baked beans and smoked corn bread.

Yard House

At several locations, Yard House has draft beer 64 ounce growlers to go with prices starting at $14.50. Some of the choices include House Honey Blonde, House Golden Pilsner and Yard House Cuvée. You can also get wine, spirits and cocktails to go, again in select locations. Through May 31, you can get a 15% discount off your food takeout order if you use the code YHTOGO15.

New York Bagel Factory and Cafe

Bagel Factory is having a “Memorial Day Clam Bake” pop-up with chef Steven LaBiner of Hobo’s Fish Joint through Monday, May 25 at 7 p.m. for both dine-in or takeout. All first responders will get a 20% discount. The prices range from $6.99 for a bowl of “Chowdah” to $299 for a clam bake and lobster special for eight people.

Bonefish Grill

The lobster and shrimp roll entrée is $16.90 through Monday, May 25. Guests who buy gift cards online get a 15% discount (no minimum) through June 6. Also, on Memorial Day, the military get a 10% discount.

Capital Grille

Capital Grille is creating a Memorial Day “Butcher Shoppe” special where you can buy uncooked steaks hand-carved by in-house butchers. Each cut will be packaged with house-made seasoning and steak butter for you to use at home. Prices range from $28 for an eight-ounce filet mignon to $55 for a six burger bundle that comes with brioche rolls.

Rocco’s will bring back its “Bottomless Brunch” throughout Memorial Day Weekend with bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys, both for $13 as well as rosé drink specials for $20. You can also get one liter bottles of margaritas (for dine-in or to-go) for $35 to $45 and you’ll get $10 off of your brunch entrée.
