Mulgrew to reprise ‘Star Trek’ role
Kate Mulgrew will reprise her famous role as Capt. Kathryn Janeway in Nickelodeon’s new animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy,” the network announced Thursday.
“I have invested every scintilla ofmy being in Captain Janeway, and I can’t wait to endow her with nuance that I never did before in ‘Star Trek: Prodigy,’ ” she said in a statement.
“How thrilling to be able to introduce to these young minds an idea that has elevated theworld for decades. To be at the helm again is going to be deeply gratifying in a newway for me.”
Janeway, the first female “Voyager” captain, will join the animated show about “a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.”
“Captain Jane way was held to a different standard than her predecessors,” executive producer Alex Kurtzman said in a statement. “Shewas asked to embody an inhuman level of perfection in order to be accepted as ‘good enough’ by the doubters, but showed them all what it means to be truly outstanding. The country singer posted a two-plus-minute video on social media Wednesday about the show’s decision. He apologized after hewas shown on TikTok socializing maskless at a crowded bar and house party this past weekend in Alabama.
Wallen was listed as a musical guest for this Saturday’s show. Wallen, 27, said his actions were “shortsighted” and have affected his long-term goals and dreams. Elvis’ grandson laid to
rest at Graceland: The grandson of rock ’n’ roll singer and actor Elvis Presley has been buried alongside his relatives at Graceland.
Graceland officials said in a statement that Benjamin Storm Presley Keough has been laid to rest in the Meditation Garden at Elvis Presley’s former home in Memphis.
Keough, 27, was the son of LisaMarie Presley, who is the daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. Keough died in a suicide in July in California, the Los Angeles County medical examiner determined.
