Reporting election disinformation to the Sun Sentinel

- By Mario Ariza

Nefarious actors are trying to sabotage your vote through phony information.

Florida is a target of election disinformation from domestic groups and international meddlers, partly because the state plays a critical role in the election of the next president.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel aims to debunk the phony information, and you can help by sending us examples of disinformation you encounter.

If you suspect that you have received a deceptive piece of election information — whether it’s a mailer, an ad, an online post or a video — share it with us via email at social@sunsentinel.com.

Please specify whether the content you are submitting was shown to voters in Miami-Dade, Broward or

PalmBeach counties.

Also, please include a link or a screenshot of the suspicious information, and a goodway of reaching you.

Here are examples of the kind of posts you may see, but there aremany others:

Emails from groups telling you to vote a certain way ... or else.

Ads or tweets discouraging people from voting because the process is unsafe or too complicated.

Messages or posts about mask wearing or COVID-19 transmission at polling booths.

Political advertisements labeling someone a socialist or communist or misstating qualifications. Suspicious text messages. False voter fraud allegations.

YouTube videos talking about the deep state, the new world order, the Roths childs, Antifa or QA non.
