Former Menudo member René Farrait invites you to celebrate Halloween with a virtual Zumba class called “Bailando A Menudo Halloween.”

In scary times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popular Puerto Rican member of Menudo offers a fun, non-scary and safe alternative.

“Bailando A Menudo Halloween,” a virtual Zumba class with the songs of the popular Puerto Ric an group, will take place on Zoom starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Farrait will be accompanied by Zumba instructors Claudine Nannini, Patricia Alarcón, Jocy Ramos and Rina Martínez.

“We want people to connect from anywhere in the world to have fun and have a good time on Halloween. Those who wish to dress up can do so. We have prepared a new repertoire that includes some hits from Menudo and other songs by other artists,” Farrait said in a news release.

“It is a different way to celebrate Halloween, since our circumstances have changed. We will have a fun time,” said Farrait, who is part of Súbete a Mi Moto Tour, aworld tour with some of the founding members of the popular Menudo group that was to perform in March in South Florida but had to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The youth group Menu do was founded in 1977 by producer Edgardo Díaz in Puerto Rico, creating a musical phenomenon never before seen in a Hispanic group. The group reached world fame in the 1980s, but split up in 2009 after 39 different singers had been with the group. Among the most famous are Ricky Martin and Draco Rosa.

The story of the group is being told in a documentary currently on Amazon Prime in Mexico and Latin America( not yet a date announced for EEUU,) under the name “Súbete ami moto— Menudo’s Story” (Get on My Motorcycle, one of their most famous songs).

Farrait, who is a personal trainer living in Miami, developed with Nan ni ni the Menudo-Zumba concept five years ago, dancing with some of the Menudo hits as well as hits from other Latino artists. Usually staged in Miami, the zumba Menudo creation has reached thousands of Menudo fans.

People from all around the world can connect to the zumba class, the organizers said. Once you buy the $10 ticket, you will receive instructions in an email with the link to enter the roughly 90-minute class. For registration and tickets, go to Bailando a Menudo Halloween.
