Only a limited number of fans allowed at games
Fans will be allowed at Florida Panthers home games, but the capacity will be capped at about 25% — a little more than 5,000 people, the team announced Wednesday.
Noting the unpredictability of the COVID- 19 pandemic, the Panthers said they will remain flexible with the capacity at BB& T Center in Sunrise for their 28 home games and remain in compliance with the NHL, local and national government health authorities.
The Panthers open the season at home Jan. 14 against the Dallas Stars at 7 p. m.
A limited number of single- game tickets for all home games will be available to purchase starting Friday at 10 a. m. Florida Panthers Territory Members will receive priority access through an opt- in process for seat selections.
Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets in advance, as ticket windows at the BB& T Center
will be cashless and mobile only. For ticket information, visit floridapanthers. com/ tickets.
The NHL resumed the pandemic- interrupted 2019- 20 season at a handful of hub sites. After finishing the season in Toronto, the Panthers are back at home for the 2021 season.
Along with a capped capacity, the BB& T Center is introducing additional safety protocols such as face masks, social- distancing guidelines, contactless mobile food ordering and health screenings.
Socially distanced entry and exit processes will also be implemented, as well as plexiglass screens throughout the arena and updated contactless restrooms.
BB& T Center is the first NHL arena to achieve the International WELL Building Institue’s WELL Health- Safety Rating, which is given in recognition of an arena’s stringent guidelines and protocols to combat COVID- 19.
