- By Adam Lichtenstein

Another up-and-coming Broward County football star announced he will be playing in an All-American game.

Deerfield Beach rising junior linebacker Jayvant Brown accepted an invitation to the 2023 All-American Bowl on Monday night, announcing his acceptance on Twitter.

“It feels really good to get the invite because I been wanting this invite since I was a kid,” Brown said. “I always grew up watching my favorite players play in the game, and I put in a lot of work for this moment.”

Brown has already established himself as one of the top players in the area, earning first-team All-County honors after a pandemic-shortened sophomore season. He racked up 51 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and three sacks last season.

Brown is the second local player to accept an invite to the 2023 All-American Bowl. Brandon Inniss was the first 2023 player to commit to the game, announcing his acceptance on May 22.

At least two local players will play in All-American games next year. American Heritage cornerback Earl Little Jr. will play in the 2022 All-American Bowl, while Chaminade-Madonna defensive lineman Kenyatta Jackson Jr. will play in the 2022 Under Armour All-America Game.

Brown is a highly coveted prospect. He is rated a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and is listed as the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 15 player in the 2023 class. Brown has offers from Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame and more.
