‘Bachelor’s’ Underwood: ‘I’m gay’

-

Colton Underwood, the former football tight end who found fame on “The Bachelor,” has revealed that he is gay.

“I’ve ran from myself for a long time. I’ve hated myself for a long time,” Underwood told “Good Morning America” on Wednesday. “And I’m gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know.”

Underwood tried out for a handful of NFL teams before his professional football career ended in 2016. Three years later, he won over Cassie Randolph on season 23 of “The Bachelor.” Underwood and Randolph never married.

Underwood said he finally got to a place where he could be honest with himself after 2020, the year that made people “look at themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they’ve been running from or what they’ve been putting off in their lives.”

Kim reveals little-known ‘Lost’ facts: Daniel Dae Kim is revealing little known details about his breakout role as Jin-Soo Kwon on J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof ’s supernatural drama “Lost.”

But according to Kim, the role of the South Korean-born doorman-turnedwaiter-turned-enforcer had an alternate fate.

“There were maybe one or two of us that really had job security,” the 52-yearold revealed to Vulture. “From what I understand, it was planned for me to be killed off in season one.”

Kim credits writer Monica Macer for saving his character and being the force behind his role that lasted through the entire run of the series.

The actor also shared how “Lost” was groundbreaking because he was able to have open dialogue about subverting Asian stereotypes with the showrunners. “While we were shooting, I remember sitting down with Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams and saying, ‘Guys, this character cannot progress in this same way.’ They basically said, ‘Trust us.’ I did, and it turned out for the best,” he said.
