HOLLYWOOD — A pregnant woman was punched in the face by the father of her unborn child then watched helplessly as he beat her 9-month-old puppy to death, police said. And it all happened despite a court order she had against him for previous domestic violence.

According to court records, a woman —16 weeks pregnant by Tyson Pierre-Louis — accepted a ride from the man’s father on the night of April 10. He was supposed to drive her and her puppy, Bai Bai, from her house to her car, but stopped along the way and picked up his son.

The woman — who was holding her puppy in her lap — asked to be let out of the car because she had a no-contact restraining order against Pierre-Louis, 20, for a previous domestic-violence incident, records showed. Her identity was redacted in the police report.

Pierre-Louis’ father pulled the car over at a Shell gas station at 2600 N. 29th Ave in Hollywood, just northwest of Interstate 95 and Sheridan Street, at about 11:30 p.m.

Pierre-Louis became enraged, accusing her of “disrespecting” his father, records stated. He then allegedly snatched a cellphone from her hand, reached out the car window and threw it on the ground.

As she tried to get out of the car, she was punched in the right eye by Pierre-Louis, records stated.

It was then, police say, that Pierre-Louis turned his rage toward Bai Bai, whom he had taken from the woman’s grasp. Pierre-Louis said he could do what he wanted with the small, gray pit bull puppy because he paid for it, records stated.

It was then that he raised the puppy over his head and repeatedly hurled it to the pavement until it was dead, detectives said.

Pierre-Louis got back in the car with his father and drove off. Police have not yet located him.

The woman, alone and pregnant, tried to tend to her dead dog, police said.

She and her unborn baby were uninjured, save for her black eye.

Police on Wednesday continued their search for Pierre-Louis.

He is facing new charges that include aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, aggravated animal cruelty and abuse, criminal mischief, and violating the terms of his pre-trial release from jail on the prior domestic violence case in January.
