BOYNTON BEACH — A 32-year-old woman was shot dead by a man who later took his own life in an apparent murder-suicide, Boynton Beach police said.

A 2-year-old boy was found unharmed inside the vehicle where the woman lay dead, Officer Jaclyn Smith said.

The woman’s body was found at about 1:36 a.m. on Tuesday inside a car parked outside a Hampton Inn hotel at 1475 W. Gateway Blvd., west of Interstate 95.

Witnesses gave police a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was later stopped by police on Interstate 95, north of Gateway Boulevard.

When police approached the car, they found Narcisse Antoine, 39, of West Palm Beach, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Smith said.

Detectives have not disclosed the name of the woman found dead Tuesday, citing privacy laws. The boy has been reunited with relatives, police said.

Antoine was acquitted in 2015 of murder and attempted murder charges in the case of a 2009 double shooting that left Brandon Hammond dead and Jeffrey Thompson wounded outside a West Palm Beach nightclub, records showed.

It was a retrial for

Antoine, after the 4th District Court of Appeal in May 2014 threw out a 2011 conviction of attempted second-degree murder and 40-year prison sentence pertaining to Thompson.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective Jeff Gleicher at 561-732-8116 or www.bbpd.org or MyPD app. Anonymous tips can be given to Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-8477 or crimes- topperspbc.com.
