SUNRISE — A 31-yearold man — who police say is armed and dangerous — is on the run after a relative was shot dead in a Sunrise home.

Jeavoye A. Jones has been identified as the person who drove up to a house just before 4 p.m. Thursday in the 7000 block of Northwest 20th Court, northeast of Sunrise Boulevard and North University Drive.

A neighbor’s security video camera showed a red car backing up to the house. A man is seen getting out of the car, running into the house, then running back outside, getting in the car and driving away.

That red car has been found, police said Tuesday, but the driver is still missing. Jones was believed to be somewhere in Sunrise, detectives said.

About 15 minutes after the shooting, Jones was seen in the Value Pawn shop at 2950 N. State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, just south of Oakland Park Boulevard, police said.

Jones was wearing a gray hoodie jacket, a blue shirt with white lettering, khaki cargo shorts, a face mask and he was carrying a black backpack. Investigators have not disclosed the name of the man who was shot dead or how he and Jones were related.

Broward Crime Stoppers released a wanted poster

Investigators are asking anyone who knows Jones’ whereabouts or who has information about the case to contact Sunrise police at 954-764-4357 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
