Waddle, Phillips to keep college numbers

Here’s who’s getting single-digit jerseys

The Miami Dolphins announced jersey numbers for several new players on Friday afternoon.

Among the 2021 NFL draft picks:

First-round picks Jaylen Waddle and Jaelan Phillips will keep the numbers they wore in college.

Waddle wore No. 17 at Alabama, while Phillips wore No. 15 with the Miami Hurricanes.

Second-round picks in safety Jevon Holland will wear No. 22, while offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg will wear No. 74.

Third-round tight end Hunter Long will wear No. 84, while seventh-round running back Gerrid Doaks has No. 23 and offensive tackle Larnel Coleman has No. 79.

Among the free agent newcomers:

Receiver Will Fuller IV will wear No. 3, while backup quarterbac­k Jacoby Brissett will wear No. 14.

Veteran defensive back Jason McCourty will wear No. 30 like he has in his previous 12 seasons with the Titans, Browns and Patriots.

New linebacker­s Duke Riley will wear No. 45, Benardrick McKinney No. 50 and Brennan Scarlett will wear No. 57.

New starting center Matt Skura will wear No. 62, while veteran offensive tackle D.J. Fluker will wear No. 76.

Veteran defensive tackles Adam Butler has No. 70, while John Jenkins will wear No. 90 in his second stint with the team after wearing No. 95 in 2019.

Other newcomers: P Michael Palardy 5; WR Robert Foster 16; RB Jordan Scarlett 28; CB Terrell Bonds 35; OL Cameron Tom 64; TE/FB Cethan Carter 82; WR Kai Locksley 87; TE Jibri Blount 89.

Returning players changing numbers:

First-round cornerback Noah Igbinoghen­e will wear No. 9 like he did at Auburn. He wore No. 23 as a rookie last season.

Linebacker Elandon Roberts will return to No. 52 after he wore No. 44 during his first season in Miami.

Receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. will wear No. 6 after wearing No. 15 last season.

Receiver Albert Wilson, making his return from opting out due to COVID-19 concerns last season, will wear No. 2 like he did at Georgia State. He wore No. 15 in 2019.

Receiver Allen Hurns, also returning from a COVID-19 opt out, will wear No. 8. He wore No. 88 with the Dolphins in 2019.

Third-string quarterbac­k Reid Sinnett will wear No. 4. He wore No. 17 last season.

Long snapper Blake Ferguson will wear No. 44 after wearing No. 50 as a rookie.

Offensive lineman Tyler Gauthier will wear No. 75, while defensive linemen Jonathan Ledbetter has No. 93 and Tyshaun Render has No. 96.
