Here’s what’s open or closed in South Florida for Christmas
Here’s what will be open and closed in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties in observance of Christmas on Dec. 25. This year, the holiday falls on Saturday and many agencies will close or have early closures on Friday.
South Florida
State offices will be closed on Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
Federal offices and most banks will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
Post offices will be closed with no regular mail delivery on Dec. 25.
Stock Markets: NYSE and Nasdaq are open Dec. 23, and closed Dec. 24. Bond Markets close early at 2 p.m on Dec. 23 and are closed on Dec. 24.

Broward County
For services in specific cities and towns, please contact the city office directly. Government/Schools
Public schools will be closed through Dec. 31, as well as most colleges and universities.
The 17th Judicial and Circuit and County Courts and the Administrative Office of the Courts will be closed Dec. 24.
Most county offices will be closed Dec. 24. Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. In the event of animal attack or bite, call 911. For lost or found cats or dogs, call 954-359-1313, ext. 9273.
The Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
Florida Department of Health in Broward County will be closed Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
There will be no garbage, bulk, or recycling collections on Dec. 25. Residents of all other Broward municipalities should contact their city or hauler directly for scheduling information. Entertainment
The county library system will close at 6 p.m. Dec. 23 and remain closed Dec. 24 and Dec.25. NOTE: The North Regional/ Broward College Library, the South Regional/Broward College Library and the NSU-Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center may vary operating hours during academic breaks.

The North Perry Airport administrative office will be closed Dec. 25. The airport will operate normally. 954-336-2973.
Palm Beach County

The 15th Judicial Court will observe Dec. 24 for the holiday.
Services
Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County will be closed Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
There will be no trash pick-up in unincorporated Palm Beach County on Dec. 25. Entertainment
The county library system will be closed Dec. 24 through Dec. 27.
Neighborhood open-space parks and natural areas will be open. Transportation
Palm Tran: Bus service will run on a Saturday schedule Dec. 24 and administrative offices are closed. On Dec. 25, service will operate on a Sunday Bus schedule and administrative offices are closed. Also, on Dec. 27, the system will operate a regular bus schedule, and administrative offices will be closed.
Miami-Dade County

Public schools are closed through Dec. 31, as well as most colleges and universities.
The 11th Judicial Circuit will be closed Dec. 24.
Services
There will be no regular trash or waste collection Dec. 25.
Entertainment
