A knife-wielding man carrying an infant tried to force his car-washing services on another man, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Eugene Moore, 51, was arrested Friday after the argument at King Suds Car Wash at 1240 45th St. in Mangonia Park, escalated. The victim told police it all started when a man asked ifhe could wash his car for a dollar at about 8:30 p.m.

The victim said he didn’t have any extra money and that he’d wash the car himself. The answer didn’t sit well with the man, who deputies identified as Moore. They said Moore began to beg the victim to let him wash the car for any amount of money, according to the report. Once again, the victim said no. The victim told deputies Moore left and then came back carrying a baby, saying he needed money for the child. But as Moore’s anger grew, Moore gave the child back to its mother and pulled out a large silver knife from his pocket.

Moore then ordered the victim to let him wash the car for money but Moore was again turned down. At that point, Moore began jabbing at the victim with the knife, according to the report.

The victim told deputies a sealed bottle of bleach was the only thing within reach so he grabbed it and used it to ward off the knife jabs. That caused bleach to splash in Moore’s eyes when he punctured the bottle.

Deputies arrived and talked with Moore who said the victim called him over and splashed him with the bleach for no reason. A witness said otherwise, agreeing with the victim that Moore was the aggressor, according to the report.

Moore faces an aggravated assault charge and is being held in Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
