The St. Thomas Aquinas father-son duo of Terry and Kevin Crowley picked up a pair of the state’s top lacrosse honors on Friday.

Junior attackman Kevin Crowley was named Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Lacrosse, awarded to Florida’s top high school player, while Terry earned Coach of the Year honors.

The Raiders are coming off their best season, highlighted by a 13-11 state championship victory over Ponte Vedra in April.

Kevin Crowley this season tallied 52 goals and 25 assists, including a gamehigh five in the state final.

In finishing 19-0 this spring, the Raiders – in Crowley’s seventh year at the helm – have reached the state tournament in each of the past four seasons.

Raiders’ Dorosy feted

St. Thomas Aquinas junior forward Bella Dorosy was named the Gatorade Florida Girls Soccer Player of the Year.

Dorosy, who is also the Sun Sentinel’s two-time All-County Player of the Year, scored 37 goals and tallied 23 assists last season for the nation’s topranked team, according to MaxPreps, until the Raiders fell 1-0 to eventual Class 4A state champion Viera in a semifinal.

The 5-6 FSU commit joins Caitlin Miskel (2005, 2006) and Alexis MacKenzie (1998) as St. Thomas girls to win the award. Douglas’ Teresa Rivera won it in 2002.
