Police seek suspect in bank robberies

- By Wayne K. Roustan Staff writer

Police and the FBI are searching for a woman who robbed a Fort Lauderdale bank and is a suspect in a Boynton Beach bank job.

She is seen in surveillance pictures walking into TD Bank, 1701 E. Sunrise Blvd., at 9:22 a.m. Monday. She demanded and got money from a teller and left, agents said.

There were customers in the bank but no one was injured, investigators said.

The woman was wearing a large denim jacket over a dark shirt, white or light gray pants, and a blue baseball cap with lettering on the front. She had a light complexion and dark shoulder-length hair, surveillance pictures showed.

FBI agents think she is the same person who robbed a TD Bank in Boynton Beach on Nov. 2.

In that case, police said a woman walked into the bank, 1601 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., at 8:37 a.m. She handed a teller a note and claimed to have a weapon.

Detectives described the woman as 50 to 60 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with “W73” on the front, white shorts and beige loafers. Her dark hair was tied back and she carried a beige handbag with a long strap over her right shoulder.
