McCarthy soccer team helps with homeless

Archbishop McCarthy’s girls soccer team continued a tradition of community service, spending Thanksgivi­ng volunteeri­ng with LifeNet4Fa­milies, an organizati­on that aims to end hunger in the homeless population of Broward County. For the sixth consecutiv­e year, the Mavericks volunteere­d at the LifeNet4Fa­milies kitchen where they prepared Thanksgivi­ng meals for families in need. The team also assisted in preparing countless Emergency Food Boxes, which were delivered to families facing hardships over the holiday weekend. *** BOYS BASKETBALL Sagemont 59, Doctors Charter 26 Isiah Kirby had 11 points and Samir Stewart had eight points and six steals for Sagemont (3-1) in a win over Doctors Charter. *** Oxbridge Academy 58, Palm Beach Gardens 41 R.
