The Gamecocks (8-0) were without leading scorer Sindarius Thornwell, who was suspended indefinitely before the game for violating an athletic department policy.

Thornwell led South Carolina with 18.7 points and 6.7 rebounds a game during its 7-0 start.

FIU, which also played without its leading scorer, Donte McGill, never led. Eric Nottage scored 20 points for the Panthers (3-6), while Michael Kessens had 12 and Anthony Bowell 10.

Hoosiers keep it up:

The Hoosiers (7-1) have won four straight, all in the last seven days.

Denzel Mahoney led Southeast Missouri State (4-4) with 16 points, and Antonius Cleveland had 13.

Indiana took advantage of Southeast Missouri State’s early shooting struggles to jump to a 17-2 lead. After the Redhawks closed to 26-21, Indiana finished the first half on a 13-5 run, then opened the second on an 11-4 spurt to make it 50-30 with 15:51 to play.

Indiana won despite committing 18 turnovers, going 7 of 20 on 3-pointers and playing without starting forward OG Anunoby (ankle) for the second straight game.
