It’s already Week 6 of Florida’s high school boys basketball season, and time to take a look at the top five programs in Palm Beach County through Christmas Day:

1. St. Andrew’s (12-0)

The Scots, led by Florida State signee Anthony Polite, defeated Montgomery (Ala.) Carver for a Kreul Classic bracket championship. Coach John O’Connell’s squad this season is smaller and quicker than last year’s and posted W’s over solid Orlando Edgewater, Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton. This week the Scots take their unbeaten record on the road for the New Year’s Classic in New York.

2. Grandview Prep (11-0)

Coach Joe Dawson’s defending state champion Pride have reeled off 43 victories in a row. A recent victory over Hallandale was one of only four games Grandview hasn’t won by double digits. The Pride play this week in the Holiday Classic of the Palm Beaches.

3. Dwyer (8-2)

With key players Tommie Lukes, Miles Coleman and Austin Evans coming in from football, the Panthers came together late, but have come on strong. Dwyer routed McArthur by 31 points, Suncoast by 24 and Royal Palm Beach by 15. The team’s two losses were to University School and to Palm Beach Lakes.

4. Oxbridge (7-1)

The ThunderWolves notched a huge early-season victory in beating a stacked Cardinal Newman, led by two-time Fab Fiver KJ Fitzgerald. Oxbridge suffered its first loss at the KSA Holiday Tournament in Orlando.

5. Wellington (8-2)

Led by four-star PG and Illinois signee Trent Frazier, Wellington has won all eight of its victories this season by double digits.
