Superstar rock band U2 will perform June 11 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on its just-announced 30th anniversary tour of “The Joshua Tree” album. Tickets for the concerts, which includes openers OneRepublic, are scheduled to go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 17.

Tickets will cost $35-$280 at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000. A series of fan-club and VIP presales begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday. For more information, visit U2.com or LiveNation.com.

U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017, which begins May 12 in Vancouver, also includes a stop at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on June 14. The band also will make its first U.S. festival headlining appearance in June at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

Released on March 9, 1987, “The Joshua Tree” was a No. 1 album in the U.S. and includes the hits “With or Without You,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where the Streets Have No Name,” as well as fan favorites such as “Bullet the Blue Sky,” “In God's Country” and “Red Hill Mining Town.” On its release, Rolling Stone magazine said the album transformed Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. “from heroes to superstars.”

In a statement announcing the concerts, guitarist the Edge said the album’s anniversary is not the only reason the band felt compelled to revisit “The Joshua Tree.”

“It seems like we have come full circle from when ‘The Joshua Tree’ songs were originally written, with global upheaval, extreme rightwing politics and some fundamental human rights at risk,” he said. “To celebrate the album — as these songs seem so relevant and prescient of these times, too — we decided to do these shows. … It feels right for now.”

Bono agreed. “Recently, I listened back to ‘The Joshua Tree’ for the first time in nearly 30 years,” he said. “It’s quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarization … all the greats ... I’ve sung some of these songs a lot… but never all of them. I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are … it’s gonna be a great night.”

U2 brought the original tour in support of “The Joshua Tree” to the Orange Bowl on Dec. 3, 1987.
