Among the new details

- — Skyler Swisher

Prosecutors released more than 3,000 pages of documents, along with audio and video files, related to the Corey Jones shooting case this week. Among the new information in the records:

Adnan Raja, a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy, told officers he was working when he learned through a text message his younger brother Nouman Raja had shot and killed Corey Jones. He said he waited two days to tell his mother that the man his brother had shot had died because he didn't have the heart to tell her the news. "I think I am a good guy," Adnan told investigators. "He's 10 times better than I am. He'll give you his shirt off his back. For the media to portray him the way they did, I don't think that was right."

An inventory list details what was found in Jones' 2008 silver-colored Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. Among the items were a wedding invitation, a ticket for the movie "50 Shades of Grey," drum equipment, an empty torn Starburst wrapper, his resume, bumper stickers for his band "Future Prezidents" and a T-shirt with “Guitar Center 27th Annual DrumOff” on it. Investigators found a small amount of marijuana, weighing 0.9 grams -- in the center console.

FBI agents interviewed 197 guests of the at least 202 staying at the DoubleTree Hotel near where the shooting happened. Several guests said they were at the hotel for a convention of fire chaplains. Most said they slept through the shooting, but a few recalled being awakened and seeing the immediate aftermath of the shooting. As of June, one guest from Korea had not been located, along with four others whose credit card information was not on file with the hotel.

Officer Nouman Raja told investigators he was aware of a "be-on-the-lookout" notice from Boynton Beach Police. The alert told officers to watch for a silver-colored 2013 Chevrolet Equinox SUV used in a shooting earlier in the evening.

In an interview, Nouman Raja told a detective he was browsing on social media shortly after the shooting happened. "When I was waiting in our command bus waiting for everybody to arrive and everything and I was bored, I, on social, I was, I looked through all the news apps that I had. And I looked through, I was just like browsing through social media apps and stuff like that."
