Crowder tournament: Former Miami Dolphins linebacker and current radio personality
has the fourth annual Channing Crowder’s Bass Fishing Tournament Saturday at Everglades Holiday Park. The tournament, which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, pays $10,000 to the winning team, based on 100 boats. Entry fee is $250 per boat for two anglers and includes admission to the weigh-in party at Green Glades Ranch in Weston. Registration starts at 4 a.m. at the boat ramp. The inaugural Island Boat Show is Friday through Sunday at Hawks Cay Resort at mile marker 61 in Duck Key. The largest boat show in the Keys, it has more than 40 different boat brands plus fishing and boating accessories. U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 54 has a one-day safe boating course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 28 at Harvey Oyer Park in Boynton Beach. The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 14-18 and free for those under 14 attending with a paid adult. The cost for three or more adults is $50 maximum. A textbook costs $10.
