Larger issue at play in Israel land debate
The issue of two states or one state regarding Israel and the Palestinians still needs to be resolved, but it won’t be by stating, “If all Palestinians had equal rights within Israel,” without clarifying that point.
Do you know that Palestinians and other Arabs serve in the Israeli Parliament? The idea that this might occur in any Arab land is absolutely laughable. How much more political clout can one expect to have than to serve in the government? If you are implying that living standards are unequal, note that they are also unequal among different segments of the Israeli Jewish population and there are unequal living standards among different groups in every nation in the world.
There are riots in European nations demanding equal treatment among Arabs and native Europeans. Would you advocate that the Arab populations in Europe have their own states in the sections in which they form a majority? Some people already do. Ellen Rubin, Delray Beach
