Monday’s game: The Marlins lost to Mets, 8-2, at Roger Dean Stadium. Right-hander Edinson Volquez cruised through his first three innings, giving up only one hit, but fell apart in the fourth when he allowed a home run to Travis d’Arnaud, a lineout and a walk before getting pulled. His next start will be Saturday at Marlins Park for the Dominican Republic in the WBC. Giancarlo Stanton (2 for 3) homered in the sixth, his first of the spring, in his final at-bat before joining Team USA. “There’s been some games he’s looked good and some games he’s not looked too good,” manager Don Mattingly said of Stanton, who is hitting .176. “But that’s what spring usually is.” The game got away from the Marlins when lefty Nick Maronde allowed six runs (five earned) while recording one out in the eighth inning. Third baseman Brian Anderson, starting in place of Martin Prado (WBC), went 1 for 2 and made a leaping catch on a scorching line drive. He is 6 for 14 (.400) this spring. UPCOMING GAMES Wednesday — off; Thursday — at Nationals (West Palm Beach), 1:05 p.m.; Friday — vs. Twins (Jupiter), 1:05 p.m.; Saturday — at Astros (West Palm Beach), 1:05 p.m.
