Justice system provides too many breaks to killers
Regarding the March 20 article “Killers on death row may live,” these convicted killers, who killed innocent victims with no mercy; including raping “a little girl in front of her even younger sister before strangling them both,” are receiving all the benefits of a twisted justice system.
The system provides them appeal after appeal by judges who bend over backward to give them every conceivable break they can find or manufacture, while the victims were put to death by these inhumane cowards with no appeals. They lie in their graves with no one to speak for them in our terrible system that allows killers — going back to 1991 — to remain alive after being sentenced to death.
Why can’t justice move faster? Who is going to speak for the victims? Why do we tolerate this terrible situation? William Silverman, Boca Raton
