Start-Up Now, a program designed to help Broward County residents launch a business, is accepting applications for its free program beginning in May. The deadline to apply is April 7. The six-month program helps budding entrepreneurs identify viable products and services in order to move them to market as soon as possible.

Start-Up Now is available to people age 18 and older who can commit to at least 20 hours a week outside the classroom, according to employment agency CareerSource Broward, the organizer of the program.

Mason Jackson, president and CEO of CareerSource Broward, said the program allows participants to share their business ideas with entrepreneurial-minded individuals, as well as learn “the latest techniques and concepts that will help them establish a business of their own.”

Selected finalists launching a business will be given space at Innovation Hub, where they will have tools and resources to build their business.

Start-Up Now is being provided in partnership with Innovation Hub@Broward College and sponsored by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
