People on the move this week highlights a variety of companies and organizati­ons that continue to build their brands and add innovation­s. They include True Drinks Holdings Inc. and IM HealthScie­nce. Both announced executive appointmen­ts. Law firms named new shareholde­rs, partners and associates. Additional­ly, nonprofit groups expanded and announced new leaders in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Culinary

Louie Bossi’s Ristorante Bar and Pizzeria, a Big Time Restaurant Group restaurant led by Executive Chef Louie Bossi recently announced the appointmen­t of Adam Robins as general manager at its Fort Lauderdale location. Robins arrived from Giordanell­a Holdings LLC where he was the director of operations and oversaw the company’s Cabo Flats brand. Previously, he was part of the opening team at Vic & Angelo’s, as well as The Office, a gastro pub and cocktail bar in Delray Beach.

Law

Greg Schwingham­mer was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 15th Judicial Circuit, which covers Palm Beach County. Edward H. Davis Jr., formerly of Astigarrag­a Davis, has announced the opening of Sequor Law in Miami, which represents clients internatio­nally in the fields of asset recovery, financial fraud, cross-border insolvency and financial services litigation. Besides Davis, Gregory Grossman is a founding shareholde­r. Other shareholde­rs are: Annette Escobar and Arnoldo Lacayo. Associates are: Daniel Coyle, Nyana Abreu Miller, Andrés Sandoval and Cristina Vicens Beard. Senior counsel is John Silbermann, most recently with the Office of Collection in the Enforcemen­t Division of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. David Miller Jr. and J. Paige Salib have joined the Palm Beach Gardens based law firm of Mathison Whittles LLP. Juliette E. Lippman, partner with Birnbaum, Lippman & Gregoire PLLC, will take office July 1 as president-elect of The Florida Bar Foundation. Additional­ly, Dori Foster-Morales, partner in Foster-Morales Sockel-Stone, has been appointed to the foundation board. Palm Beach attorney Carl Domino has been reappointe­d by The Florida Bar to a three-year term on the foundation board. McIntosh Sawran & Cartaya, P.A. announced the naming of new partners: Crystal L. Arocha in Miami and Kimberly K. Berman and Kathleen O. King in Fort Lauderdale.

Medical

Dr. Barbara Abernathy was a finalist by Palm Beach County Medical Society for the 2017 Heroes in Medicine Award, Health Care Provider Heroes. Abernathy is chief executive officer of Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST), a local nonprofit, which provides financial and emotional support to local families coping with the devastatin­g impact of their child’s cancer diagnosis. Abernathy has been with POST for 19 years and is a faculty member at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Education

Council for Educationa­l Change has appointed Michael W. Kornahrens and Douglas A. Harrison to its board of directors in Weston. Kornahrens is co-founder and president of Advanced Green Technologi­es, Harrison is assistant city attorney for the City of Miami and commission­er at South Broward Hospital District, where he defines the mission and vision of the South Broward Hospital District / Memorial Healthcare System.

Nonprofit

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, announced recent appointmen­ts: Richard Hernandez to director of grants developmen­t, Anneleise Sanchez, director of special events and developmen­t, and Raquel Torres as administra­tive assistant. Lighthouse of Broward named Ellyn Drotzer as executive director. Previously Drotzer was director of business developmen­t at the South Florida Community Care Network as well as associate vice president of resource developmen­t and operations at Broward College & Broward College Foundation.

Stacy Ostrau has joined the Richard David Kann (RDK) Melanoma Foundation as executive director. The organizati­on works to educate youth grades K-12 on the importance of sun safe behavior and raise awareness about early detection of skin cancer. Ostrau will oversee all aspects of the organizati­on, including its “RAY” Project, which involves the distributi­on of sunscreen dispensers in parks, beaches, schools and other outdoor areas. Ostrau was most recently director of community affairs for the Sun Sentinel and publisher of its weekly Society Scene. Kim Hanson, major/planned gifts officer for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, was recently appointed to the board of the Planned Giving Council of Palm Beach County. Hospice of Broward County Foundation and Hospice by the Sea Foundation, the philanthro­pic arms of Trustbridg­e, have announced the appointmen­t of Valerie

Vitale as the new executive director for Broward County.

Finance

Kevin Flynn has joined FirstBank in Miami as vice president of corporate banking. Global insurance company Premier Assurance Group in Coral Gables, has named

David Ancona customer service manager. Ancona was previously the national sales manager at Bel Inc.

Cultural

Milagro Center, the Delray Beach-based nonprofit organizati­on that provides cultural arts and academic enrichment to the community’s most at-risk children, appointed Alex Oliveira, owner of Prediq Media in Deerfield Beach, and Nancy Singer, a Boca Raton resident and community volunteer, to the board of directors of Milagro Center.

Roger Ward has rejoined the Norton Museum of Art as president and chief executive officer. Ward was previously chief curator and deputy director at the facility from 2001 to 2011.

Real Estate

Claudia Benitez, Nicolas Escobar, Natasha Melendez, Annette Moss, Luis Nazario, Bob Rick, Hector Rodriguez, Vanessa Stathopoul­ou, and Joanna Weber have joined Esslinger Wooten Maxwell (EWM) Realty Internatio­nal’s Coral Gables-South Miami office as associates. Maya Sherrill, broker associate with Adache Real Estate, has been appointed as the project sales executive for 30 Thirty North Ocean, a condominiu­m project located in the Lauderdale Beach neighborho­od.

Beverages

True Drinks Holdings Inc. has appointed James J. Greco as chief executive officer of True Drinks Inc. In February, Greco joined the organizati­on as director of True Drinks. Greco is currently a director of the Palm Beach County Food Bank, as well as an operating adviser for Lincoln Road Global Management. In the past, Greco was chief executive officer and president of Sbarro LLC. He takes over day-to-day operations and Kevin Sherman will retain the role of president.

Constructi­on

Scott Burgess has been appointed marketing manager for Golden Sands General Contractor­s, in Miami. Prior to joining Golden Sands, Burgess worked in commercial real estate marketing, working for Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors (CBC Advisors) and Regency Centers Corp. Moss has promoted Jeff Callahan to vice president/project executive. Callahan joined Moss in 2005 as an assistant project manager.

Dietary

David C. Brodner, M.D. has been named chief medical officer of Physician’s Seal, a dietary supplement­s and over-the-counter drug company in Boca Raton and a subsidiary of the privately held medical foods company, IM Health Science. The new company, Physician’s Seal, focuses on the developmen­t and commercial­ization of novel and evidence-based dietary supplement­s and OTC therapies. Brodner is a sleep medicine specialist in Boynton Beach who founded The Center for Sinus, Allergy, and Sleep Wellness in 2009.

Public Relations

rbb Communicat­ions announced the addition of Dana Rozansky as an account director, Ailys Toledo as an account executive and Ariel Calderon as a clerk.
