Leader’s history undermines critique

-

What a disappointment to see you include Luther Campbell in your list of South Florida’s 100 influential leaders. I am a native and have seen him listed here before — but after reading his entry Sunday, I am compelled to write.

First, how really relevant is this long ago so-called rapper/entertainer at this point in time? I’m sure everyone agrees that Sen. Frank Artiles is a disgrace for such language and behavior used in the political arena. He obviously has no business representing either party or the diverse demographic of South Florida. However, for Campbell to turn it around and align it with Donald Trump being elected is way out of line.

I’m not a big fan of our president, but let’s get the facts straight. I’m sure that Artiles would have made these statements regardless of who is in the White House. I am sick to death of the “blame game,” whether it is done by the Dems or Republicans.

Luther, don’t get it twisted. You are “unbelievable” if this is your best contribution to the people of South Florida.

Also, last but not least, coming from a man who made a living selling rap records to our youth using the same vulgarities and disparaging females and his own race. His lyrics were absolutely filthy and honestly had no place in our society.

Shame on you for giving this man a platform.
